MEEKER I After just a few years in operation, the Angels and Outlaws Daycare Center may be forced to close due to the business owner’s financial troubles.
“It’s the business, not the property owner, that is in trouble financially,” said center director Becky Ridings. “The building owner, Dwayne Stewart, is trying to help us in any way he can.”
The center provides care for 40 to 45 children a day, and is licensed to care for 60. The financial problems are tax-related, according to Ridings.
“We told parents that April 30 will be the last day,” Ridings said. “But there is a little hope in the community right now. I’m not at liberty to share the details, but I do see a glimmer of hope.”
“If this new thing works out, depending on state licensing and requirements, we may be able to reopen under a new name and hopefully it will be a smooth transition. I’m just telling everyone to keep praying. It (daycare) is such a need in our community,” she added.
