One memorial service has already been held for Chris Walling, but another will be held today, May 9, in Meeker.
The first memorial service for Chris Walling was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Applewood Baptist Church, 11200 W 32nd Ave., in Wheat Ridge, Colo. That service was followed by a reception.
Today, there will be a service in Meeker at 2 p.m. at the Meeker Assembly of God Church (across from Ma Famiglia) on Market Street. All firemen/EMTs/police officers are asked to wear their Class B uniforms and 800 radios if possible.
Anyone with questions is requested to call Michelle Swango at 303-421-1939. All of Chris’s EMS/FIRE/PD friends and coworkers are invited to both services.
Sara Walling has asked that the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District wear their dark blue dress shirts and cover all badges and shields appropriately with the memorial band. If you are unsure how to wear that, please contact Vicki at the firehouse or on her cell phone at 970-756-5023.
All EMS and fire personnel are asked to meet at the firehouse at 1 p.m. to go over ceremony details. There will be a luncheon after the service in the basement of the church.
After the services and luncheon, Sara Walling will be packing the rest of her house into trailers and into all of her vehicles for moving to Denver that day. Anyone who can help will be greatly appreciated.
