MEEKER — Meeker’s Destination Imagination teams competed at the Western Slope Regional Tournament March 8 at Coal Ridge High School.
The Insane Brains, managed by Stacy Hudelson, completed a challenge involving solving a myth. Members of the team were Jamie McLaughlin, Brittany Smith, Reagan Pearce, Anthony Watt, Cade Rowlett, Joe Newman and Sydney Hughes.
The Magical Magnificent Seven, managed by Kellie Turner and Jackie Klinglesmith, was challenged with an optical illusion and a secret. They won first place and a Renaissance award for their optical illusion, which involved cutting Madeline Amack in half. Amack, Sheridan Harvey, Lori Ann Klinglesmith, Eli Newman, Meghan Smith and Casey Turner will compete at the state tournament in Denver April 26.
The Hot Wheels team, managed by Kristen Eskelson, Brooke Mantle and Lisa Walsh, received fourth place for their obstacle course challenge and a skit about overcoming obstacles. The team members were Halle Ahrens, Uri Goedert, Doak Mantle, Kinzy Burke, Julia Eskelson and Anna Walsh.
The Rising Stars changed history by not going to school and working in a circus. Kale Burke, Charlie Day, Stephen Walsh, Gracie Bradfield, Lila Klinglesmith and Kenzie Turner made up the team managed by Marnell Bradfield.
