DINO I Dinosaur National Monument is joining parks, programs and partners across the country to encourage everyone to come out to kick off the celebration of the National Park Service Centennial during National Park Week.
The special week runs through Sunday, and national parks and monuments around the country will waive entrance fees.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the National Park Service as the agency that now manages 411 areas of natural and cultural significance across the United States. From diverse wildlife and iconic landscapes, to vibrant culture and rich history, our National Park System has something for everyone.
Junior rangers will learn about the paleontology, archaeology and wildlife that can be found when exploring our public lands, and special edition Centennial Junior Ranger activity books and badges are available while supplies last.
“Dinosaur National Monument celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015 and this year the National Park Service is celebrating its centennial,” stated Superintendent Mark Foust. “We want everyone, especially folks in the local area, to come out and enjoy the monument. With free entrance for the entire week, National Park Week is a fantastic time to explore Dinosaur for the first time or to reacquaint yourselves with this incredible place right in your own backyard.”
