RBC | No outside horses are allowed at Columbine Park in Rangely or the fairgrounds in Meeker because of an outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) in the state, which continues to be investigated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Nine cases of horses with EHV-1 have been confirmed in the state, two horses have been euthanized. There are 22 suspected cases and 12 quarantine and hold orders have been issued in eight counties, including Garfield and Mesa counties.
