RANGELY I The Rangely Junior High eighth grade girls’ basketball team started off its season at DeBeque Dec. 15. The Panthers came out strong scoring 17 points in the first quarter, to DeBeque’s two points. The team continued to play well and ended the game with a win. The final score was 42-17. While the offense was impressive, Head Coach Mark Skelton praised the team’s defense.
“The kids are starting to understand the concept of team defense. When they clicked it led to some easy offense,” he said. Seven Panthers scored in the contest. Kadance Wagner led the team in scoring with 16 points. Also scoring were: Kyrah Phelps, 7; Kastyn Dembowski, 6; KristianaTerry, 6; Emma Smith, 4; Annika Cantrell, 2; Rylee Allred, 1.
