RANGELY I Two special district elections Tuesday to elect board members to the Rangely Hospital District and Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan (WRBM) Recreation and Park District drew just under 300 residents to the polls.
Of the seven residents running for two seats on the Rangely District Hospital (RDH) board, incumbent John Payne kept the seat he was appointed to last year with 163 votes. Jason Kurrasch won the second seat with 127 votes as Nathaniel (Nate) Polley was third with 88 votes, followed by Charles (Rick) Brady with 60, Jennifer Moore with 56, Michael Dillon with 39 and Tad Moss with 36. Voters cast 296 votes in the election.
Payne and Kurrasch will take their seats May 29.
Of three residents seeking two seats on the WRBM board, incumbent Jeffery (Jeff) LeBleu maintained his seat with 234 of the 286 votes cast. Ryan Torsell claimed the second seat with 157 votes while Robert (Robby) Elam drew 135 votes.
LeBleu and Torsell will begin their new terms May 12.
