RANGELY I Encana Oil and Gas, Inc. announced Thursday that it has given the Rangely Police Department a grant to train law enforcement on how to better respond to life-threatening situations.
“Encana is proud to support this program, which will provide Rio Blanco law enforcement with the tools necessary to keep the community safer and better prepared to respond in critical situations,” said Sandy Kent, community relations advisor for Encana.
The overall goal of the program is to provide regular instruction and real-time response training to a life-threatening, active shooter scenario, Kent said.
The $3,000 grant will provide law enforcement with the skills they need to drastically increase the preservation of life in an emergency. Local professionals at hospitals and area schools will also benefit from the training program.
