“I think the expo was a great success,” Glenn Vawter, executive director of the National Oil Shale Association said of the energy expo held last week in Meeker. Vawter has spent more than 40 years studying oil shale and set up a booth to share information he has gathered at the annual expo, sponsored by EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., Enterprise Products, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Williams and the Meeker Chamber of Commerce. Vawter also wanted to share this photo of Meeker High School students; Zach Williams, William French and Austin Brown. “I think the expo was a great success. We were able to convey a lot of information on oil shale to the public, including the students that attended. Thanks to the chamber of commerce for sponsoring the event. It is always good to get back to Meeker — a real Western Slope Community,” Vawter said.
