RANGELY | Great news for Rangely residents! Cooler temperatures and shorter days may force us indoors this fall but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Pause that Netflix series because just around the corner are two delightful events sponsored by the Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce with the help of the Rangely Police Department, Moon Lake Electric, Rangely Community Gardens, White River Market, and Nichols Store. Stop by the Chamber Office at 255 East Main St., Suite A, on Friday, Oct. 25 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up a pumpkin and entry form. Over the weekend carve that pumpkin and return it to the Chamber office by 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 for Rangely’s first annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. The pumpkins will be judged at 6 p.m. on Monday. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category: funniest, scariest and most creative.
That same day, Oct. 28, Rangely’s first annual Scarecrow Contest will be taking place. Create your own scarecrow for judging. All registrations must be in by noon on Monday to the Chamber office. Judging of the scarecrows will take place at 2 p.m. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in the funniest, scariest and most creative categories. Get those creative artistic thinking caps on, these fun contests are open to everyone and sure to be a fun fall activity to participate in. For more information call the Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce at 970-675-5290.
