RANGELY — Epsilon Chi chapter of ESA ended the year with an awards dinner for members at the home of Gail Palmer with Dorothy Collins as co-host.
One hundred twenty years of service and membership were represented with Grace Hayes receiving a 30-year pin, Gail Palmer receiving her 40-year pin and Martha Mitchem was honored with a 50-year membership pin.
Brenda Hopson and Arlene Huff had a two-year perfect attendance record. Huff also received her 2nd Degree Pallace Athene recognition for her participation in the activities of the chapter.
The annual bazaar will be held Sunday, Nov. 16.
Installation of officers for 2008-2010 was held. Martha Mitchem will serve as president, Brenda Hopson as vice president, Arlene Huff as treasurer and Dorothy Collins as secretary. Gail Palmer will be educational director and Loyann Hayes will serve as Jonquil Girl.
Because several of our members are away during the winter months we will try a calendar year of April through December beginning now. Our June meeting will be Thursday, June 5. Call Martha at (970) 675-8960 for more information.
Any one interested in our activities and perhaps joining our group is urged to contact any of the members: Martha Mitchem at (970) 675-8960, Brenda Hopson at (970) 675-8097 or Dorothy Collins at (970) 675-2367. Don’t hesitate to leave a message.
Some of our local philanthropic projects include Eagle Crest Assisted Living, Rangely Hospital, Giant Step, the local Food Bank, Rowdy Worm and other needs, as they arise. Nationally the group supports the St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., with proceeds from the raffle that takes place at our annual bazaar in November.
