One of the new events at this year’s ERBM Recreation and Park District’s Customer Appreciation Day was the inaugural Color Run as the kids raced around the county courthouse, coming up on stations where they were splattered with powdered water-based paint, which made for rainbows of color on the kids’ clothes, in their hair and in the courthouse lawn.
Members of the Meeker Lions Club, from left, Chris Strate, Mark Rogers, Bill Jordan and Ken Coffin spent much of Saturday feeding hamburgers and hot dogs as well as salads and soft drinks to what may have been between 400 and 500 people during the ERBM Recreation District’s Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday on the courthouse lawn in Meeker. Games, the Matt Holliday Band, root beer floats by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society and face-painting artists were also on hand for the entertainment of residents and visitors.
Meeker’s own Matt Holliday Band entertained several hundred residents and visitors during Saturday’s Customer Appreciation Day, put on by the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District on the county courthouse lawn in Meeker. The live music, free burgers, hot dogs, salads and drinks prepared and served by the Meeker Lions Club, a water slide, face painting, a color run and a wide variety of games kept folks occupied from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
