The Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado elected new executive board officers at their monthly Board meeting held on April 24 at the Mesa County Workforce Center in Grand Junction.
Garfield County Commissioner Mike Samson was re-elected as the association’s chairman. Rio Blanco County Commissioner Jeff Eskelson, who served as AGNC’s treasurer last year, was chosen to be the new vice chairman, replacing Routt County Commissioner Doug Monger, who didn’t seek re-nomination. Grand Junction City Council member and Mayor Pro-Tem Marty Chazen is the Association’s new Treasurer.
None of the positions was challenged, and the votes were unanimous.
AGNC’s Executive Director Scott McInnis credited the associations strong leadership for its several successes in the past year.
“AGNC has had a number of victories, including securing the distribution of federal mineral lease dollars that were hidden in a state fund, and those victories were due in large part to strong leadership within the organization,” he said. “AGNC has come a long ways in a short period of time.”
