Dear Editor:
We would like to thank all the people who have donated food and toiletries to the Rangely Food Bank. A special thanks to White River Market for their weekly help.
Winter is upon us and it is time to stock our new shelves and fill the freezers. I do not like driving the pass in the winter and do not expect our wonderful volunteers to make that drive loaded with food over the pass.
Hunters needing more room in their freezers: we do take game meat and appreciate anything we get as long as it is not freezer-burned.
We have also gotten some cash donations to help us buy new shelves, pay the utilities, and buy food from the Food Bank of the Rockies in Grand Junction.
Cash donations have been down the past two years and we have had to stop buying milk certificates, and anything else we could supply that are not covered by food stamps. Rangely food bank is a 501c3 federal tax-exempt organization
Anybody wishing to volunteer to help load boxes, unload and stock shelves, or work the food bank on Wednesday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. call 970-629-0709.
