Annalyse Harper, 3, helped bag up potatoes for the food giveaway Nov. 18 at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. The Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Food Pantry served more than 200 people, giving away onions, potatoes and other staples. “They maybe get a week’s worth of meals,” said Terry Sutton with the food bank. “If the grant money continues, we’ll keep funding this. There’s a need for it.” Funding is through Chase Manhattan Bank. The mobile food pantry will be back in Meeker in December.
