RANGELY I Terrell Lowry, Josh Mosley, Tyler Dahl and Dustin Kissling returned to Rangely to shoot 19 under par and win the 27-hole, four-person scramble on Saturday at Cedar Ridges Golf Course.
Lowry and Dahl currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dahl now lives in Montrose and Kissling in Grand Junction, but the four reunited to beat a team from Meeker by one stroke for the title.
“We felt pretty good, coming into the clubhouse at 18 under and we still lost,” said Meeker golfer Larin Crase, who teamed up with Bryce Ducey, Kyle Frary and Kyle Hooks to finish with the second best gross score—but out of the money—in a field of 11 teams.
Mike Eckenrod, Aaron Salazar, Kyle Carstens and Rod Green of Fruita finished the 27-holes with a net score of 81.
“The weather was fantastic and it was a very fun and competitive afternoon,” Cedar Ridges golf manager Chris Hejl said of Saturday’s tournament.
“The course was in great shape,” Scott Creecy, another Meeker golfer, said of the course’s condition.
The Elks Scramble will be played June 13 at Cedar Ridges followed by the Rangely Open Stroke Play Tournament on June 20.
