Free concert at the Tank Oct. 7

RANGELY | Come to the TANK Center for Sonic Arts at 233 CR 46 in Rangely on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8-10 p.m. for a free concert with The Yes &, music by Anne Lanzilotti (viola, voice) and Gahlord Dewald (modular synth) as they celebrate the release of their debut album, “Thrush.” The album blends processed electronic sounds with acoustic melodies and timbral manipulations on viola. Lanzilotti’s specialist techniques for generating new sounds and noise on the viola is blended with Dewald’s transformative electronic processing. Through live improvisation the two create unique sound worlds. They join the acoustic and tactile sensations of the bowed, plucked, scraped and scratched strings with the endless variety of noise and texture from electronic feedback, sampling and organization. Thoughts of destination and journey give way to an ever-present of sound, form, noise, texture and—among the internal subtleties—melody and meaning.
