MEEKER I The National Weather Service will provide free storm spotter and weather safety training in Meeker, and all interested individuals are invited to take part.
The Basic Storm Spotter Training class will run from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 in the Rio Blanco County Commissioners’ board room at the Fairfield Center, 200 Main St. in Meeker.
People who take the training will then be officially recognized as trained spotters when they report severe weather events to our forecast office. However, attending the training does not require anyone to join our NWS volunteer storm spotting program.
There is no registration or RSVP required; interested persons are asked to just show up at 6 p.m. for the training.
