Fundraising efforts pay for celebration

Many efforts from the 50th anniversary planning committee and the CNCC Foundation, as well as college and community generosity, raised money for the Colorado Northwestern Community College 50th Anniversary Re-dedication Celebration.
The CNCC Foundation Board considerately turned the proceeds from the annual dinner/dance over to the celebration budget, which has helped cover costs of construction, rentals, and entertainment.
The planning committee also added a new feature to the CNCC Foundation Dinner/Dance, which was the “Chairity” Auction. Different styles of chairs were donated by individuals and made into chair packages with accessories that matched the chair’s function, such as a double camp chair with camping accessories and, everyone’s favorite, a camping “throne” complete with personal hygiene accessories. The dental hygiene program even donated a vintage dental chair with dental supplies, which was the biggest money-maker of all. The “Chair-ity” Auction alone raised more than $3,000.
Most everyone in town is familiar with the pink flamingo fundraiser, or has at least wondered what was going on. The pink flamingos enjoyed visiting many homes and businesses over several weeks in an effort to help the Colorado Northwestern Community College Foundation raise funds for the college’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. With generous and fun-spirited goodwill, the community helped raise $4,000 for the Celebration.
The CNCC Rangely Student Government also contributed generously with $2,000 to help pay for the commissioned artwork that will be a part of the new time capsule courtyard.
