RANGELY — Dan Gibbs has been named the artist of the month by the Rangely Arts Council and the Rangely Public Library.
Gibbs was born and raised in Vernal, Utah. He calls Rangely home and has lived here for nearly 32 years.
Gibbs’ art reflects his love for animals, wildlife and the outdoors. He has always enjoyed drawing and painting and as a youth dreamed of being a professional artist.
At the age of 11 or 12 he saved his school lunch money for months to buy an oil painting set. He has continued to paint and draw as a hobby throughout the years.
Come to the library in April to see his artwork. The Rangely Public Library is located at 109 E. Main St.
Call (970) 675-8811 for more information. The library is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
