RBC | Seven members of the Rifle High School softball team were issued MIPs (minor in possession) Friday night at a party upriver.
“We got a complaint of noise disturbance,” said Rio Blanco County Undersheriff Mike Joos. “Deputies responded, and there were seven girls that were drinking. We called the parents, and they came and picked them up.”
The ages of the girls ranged from 16 to 18. Five of the girls were 16, one was 17 and one was 18.
“We found out the 18-year-old actually purchased (the alcohol) through someone in Silt,” Joos said. “The Silt PD is looking into that part of it.”Joos said the incident occurred at the Bel-Aire Campground, “just before you get to Buford.”
