MEEKER — Thanks to a grant announced last week, Meeker Airport will expand its operations.
Colorado Congressman John Salazar’s office reported a $155,526 grant “to relocate the Automated Surveillance Observation System and the segmented circle” at the airport.
According to the news release, “the existing ASOS and segmented circle … impede aircraft apron expansion and hangar development.” The relocation will allow for continued development of the east side of the airport.
“This funding will help the Meeker Airport expand its operations and its ability to provide safe and efficient air service for residents and pilots in and around Rio Blanco County,” Salazar said.
No date has been set for the work.
