RANGELY I The Rangely Community Health Fair will be held April 2 at Rangely District Hospital, where there will be free screenings, other special screenings with associated costs, a drawing to win a GX 3.5 Sport Cycle Nordic Track, other door prizes and health care booths.
The fair will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 2 at the hospital but blood pre-draws will be held from 6 to 10 a.m. on April 1, and those who have their lab tests drawn can enter to win the Nordic Track.
Special screens are also available, including blood screenings for: blood chemistry ($30), prostate specific antigen ($25), blood count ($15), Vitamin D ($40), Hemoglobin A1C ($25); colon cancer screen ($20) and gluten screen for ($30).
There will also be a wide variety of informational and free health screening booths available, including: hearing screening, finger stick glucose screening, pulse oximetry screening, oral health screening and height, weight and blood pressure.
The informational booths will include: ask a pharmacist, first aid information, radiology, classic lifeguard aeromedical services, physical therapy, nourishment, hospital info, county health, health management, the fire department, talk with a health professional and the Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Parks and Recreation district.
Those who plan to have their blood screenings should not eat for 12 hours before having the blood draw on April 1; diabetics should not diet; continue taking prescribed medications; all must be 18 years or older to participate; and all should drink plenty of water while fasting.
