MEEKER I If you are interested in a career in health care, Pioneers Healthcare Foundation has several types of scholarships available to Meeker-area graduating high school seniors, continuing college students and post graduate (masters and doctorate) students pursuing their degrees in the heath-care fields.
For instance, the Kris Borchard Strive for Excellence Scholarship application is now available. This scholarship will be awarded to a Meeker resident who has successfully completed his or her associate’s or bachelor’s degree and who is now pursuing a post-graduate degree in a healthcare-related field (physician, advanced degree in nursing, anesthesiology, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical’s assistant, psychologist, pharmacist, etc.).
Recipients will receive up to $4,000 as a $1,000 annual renewable scholarship to be paid out for up to four years. Recipients must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average, or a student in good standing to be eligible for renewal.
