Herald Times launches updated Web site

RBC — The Herald Times has launched a redesigned Web site, and the new look provides more photos, slide shows and stories for subscribers.
The new design makes it easier to use the site since visitors will no longer be required to navigate full-page PDFs. If visitors want to view the PDFs of the print edition they can can, but the site will take on the look and feel of a standard text-based Web site.
“The newspaper starts its 125th year in August, and launching the new Web edition is a great way to start the celebration,” said newspaper publisher Mitch Bettis. “Each week we always have more photos than we can ever get in the print edition, and the Web site now lets us post a multitude of images as well as other content that we can’t get into the print edition.”
The new site will also showcase more photos, slide shows and content than what online readers are getting with the present site. New stories will be posted to the site each day, and online subscribers can also leave comments on any story.
Also online are schedules for athletic teams in the county, classified ads and a regional events calendar. Additionally, the news, sports, obituaries and other stories in the print edition are also found online.
Bettis said any current online subscriber will have his/her remaining subscription time transferred to the new site.
Thousands of visitors log on to www.theheraldtimes.com each month to keep up with news from Rio Blanco County, Rangely, Meeker and Dinosaur.
