RBC I Kids and families looking for outdoor adventures are urged to put the ninth annual Outdoor Heritage Day on the calendar. The annual celebration of Colorado’s outdoors will take place at Riverbend Park in Palisade on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than 40 agencies, businesses and organizations will be ready to provide information, guidance and support to outdoor adventurers.
A variety of exhibits and educational activities will be featured, including boating safety, fishing, hunting, wildlife management, archery and firearms safety, gold panning, tying flies and watching wildlife.
A popular attraction each year, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will stock the park’s pond with plenty of large trout ready to be caught. Bring your own fishing gear or get one of hundreds of fishing rods provided free by Great Outdoors Colorado and CPW.
Event organizers will provide a free hotdog lunch for participants from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dress for variable weather and be sure to pack snacks, sunscreen and water.
