MEEKER I The 13 entries in the chamber of commerce’s Holiday Lighting Contest were judged Monday.
Seven businesses entered the contest, with Meeker Drugs judged the winning entry. The residential winner was Tim Leff and Andrea Harmon’s house at 426 Water St.
Honorable mention goes to the Joneses for their fun and merry display at 744 Market St., the Nelsons’ bright and playful lights at 907 Park and the Parrs’ exquisite holiday detail at 590 County Road 4.
Also, Lois and Frank Sampsons’ display at 811 Market Street is truly like “chocolate for the eyes” as well as the Welles at Eighth and Garfield. Other wonderful displays are the Hughes at the Fairfield, the Krachts at 1050 Cleveland and the Pattersons at 688 Seventh St.
Main Street downtown is a definite must-see with Joy Surveying, Meeker Realty, Avis’ Village Floral and Wendll’s winter wonderland displays. On Market Street, Fiesta Guadalajara, Elk Mountain Inn and other businesses boast wonderful light displays.
Thanks to all of the entries in this year’s lighting contest, the judges and the sponsor, White River Electric, for making this holiday season bright.
