RANGELY | This week’s “home of” honorees are James Woodall and Jamie Larson of Rangely. James worked for an auto repair and towing business in Oregon for 17 years. He first started coming to Rangely in 1996 to elk hunt with a friend and liked the area. He moved to Rangely two years ago, hoping to get a job in the oil field but the economy had slowed down. He met Jamie when they were both working for Northwest Auto in Meeker.
The opportunity came for them to start their own business in Rangely. They leased the former Rangely Rx building and opened JJ’s Tire and Automotive in October.
Jamie is the daughter of Pete and Janet Larson of Meeker. Her brothers, Joe Larson and his daughter Hailey, 6, and Alan Larson also live in Meeker.
James and Jamie have four children. James’ son Dalton is 14. Jamie has three sons, Qynton, 14, Trevor, 11, and Gabriel, 7.
James and Jamie “love the outdoors, motorcycles and hunting. Jamie loves to go geocaching,” James said. Jamie explained that there are a lot of places near Rangely to geocache. “I go to geocaching.com and download locations. It’s like a treasure hunt. You use your GPS to locate items.”
“We like the peace and quiet of Rangely. It’s a good place to raise kids. The people are accepting and friendly,” they added.
