MEEKER | Tobey and Rachel Willey of Meeker are this week’s “home of” honorees. Tobey moved to Meeker with his family when he was 5. His parents are Ron Willey and the late Darlene Wall of Meeker. Rachel is a Meeker native. Her parents are Allen and Mickie Slaugh and Kathy Slaugh also of Meeker. Tobey and Rachel were married 16 years on July 29.
Tobey is a water operator for the Town of Meeker. Rachel is the office assistant and billing technician for Pioneers Hospital Home Health.
The Willeys have three children attending Meeker schools. Their son Dayton, 12, is a sixth grader; daughter Allie, 10, is a fifth grader; and son Dawson, 6, is in kindergarten.
“As a family we like the outdoors and enjoy camping and hiking. We’re involved with 4-H. Our kids raised pigs and chickens and Allie did scrapbooking. Tobey and the boys also enjoy hunting and fishing. Allie and I like to do things at home. We live 8 miles out of town and enjoy gardening and working in the flowers outside. We also like spending time with our family and friends,” Rachel explained.
“I like that Meeker is a small town and the closeness of the community. I love the schools and I like knowing where my kids are. I’ve never lived anywhere else. This is home,” Rachel added.
