RANGELY | Ed and Christina Miller have lived in Rangely a combined 78 years and they believe the town is just about as good as it gets for living.
Ed moved to Rangely 42 years ago, when he was just a year old, because his father had moved to town to work for W.C. Striegel. Christina moved to Rangely 36 years ago because her father was a patrolman for the Colorado State Police.
The couple has been married for 17 years, having exchanged vows in Rangely.
Christina works for the mining firm of American Gilsonite in Bonanza, Utah, and Ed has owned Owens EMC Plumbing and Heating, a business he got into after serving in the U.S. Navy for four years.
The Millers have two children. The oldest is daughter Marlena, who turned 12 on Sunday and who is a student at Rangely Middle School. Son Trey is 5, and he is a student in preschool.
As a hobby, the family enjoys drag racing and riding their four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Ed has a side hobby airbrush painting helmets, cars, four-wheelers or whatever it is that someone wants airbrushed.
What Christine likes most about Rangely is the high number of family members nearby.
“We live here in Rangely with my parents, my sister and brother-in-law and my nephew nearby,” she said. “It is really nice to have the family so close.”
As for special memories or travel, Christina said, “No, I don’t have any really special memories as I usually just keep to myself. I love living in Rangely, and that is what I really enjoy.”
