DINOSAUR | This week’s “home of” honorees are Jerry and Kim Stewart of Dinosaur.
Jerry was raised in Rangely. His father is Randy Stewart and mother is Rhonda Tucker-Hartman, both of Rangely. Kim moved to Dinosaur in 2004. Her parents, Terry and Stella Billings, also live in Dinosaur. Jerry and Kim met at Kim’s sister Johna and her husband Kane Coleman’s wedding. Jerry and Kim will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary June 10.
Jerry works at Stewart Welding and Machine in Rangely, the family-owned business started by his late grandfather Alvin Stewart. Jerry’s uncle and aunt, Brad and Lynda Cady, uncles Darryl Stewart and Mike Stewart and cousin Kyle Stewart also work at Stewart Welding and live in the area.
Kim has worked at Rangely District Hospital since 2007. She started as a receptionist at the clinic and currently works in the RDH accounts payable department.
Kim’s mother Stella runs the Hi-Way Bar and Grill/Rainbow Tavern in Dinosaur and her father Terry is a retired truck driver.
Jerry has three children: son Alvin Stewart, 8, son Jesse Stewart, 7, and daughter Teijah Stewart, 6.
“We enjoy hunting, 4-wheeling, rock crawling, water skiing, knee boarding and other outdoor stuff. We own a boat and go to Kenney Reservoir a lot. We also ride dirt bikes. We stay busy with family and friends,” Kim said.
“We went bass fishing on Lake Michigan for our first anniversary. Jerry’s hunting buddy Roger Gillespie owns a boat and lives in Montrose, Mich., near Flint, Mich., in northern Michigan. We had a great time, caught a lot of bass and a whole bunch of other fish. Other than that, we’ve been here,” Kim added.
“I like the close family connection with everybody a small town has. I enjoy the easy access to outdoor activities we have and that we’re close to Utah lakes and Kenney Reservoir. I love the small town atmosphere of Dinosaur and Rangely,” Kim ended.
