MEEKER | Johnny and Patti Arrington of Meeker are this week’s “home of” honorees. The Arringtons have lived here nine years. Johnny and Patti will celebrate their silver (25th) wedding anniversary Jan. 16.
Johnny is the pastor of Meeker United Methodist Church. Patti works for White River Electric as a customer service representative.
The couple has two children. Their son Joe Arrington and his wife Heather of San Antonio, Texas, have 4-year old twin daughters, Reese and Ryann. Daughter Audra Jones and her husband Torrey live in Austin, Texas. Audra and Torrey have one son Anthony, 4, and are expecting another baby boy in March.
Patti is involved with the donated school supplies and The Giving Tree community projects. “I have a passion for community outreach and hiking Colorado’s fourteeners. I have hiked half of them with my husband Johnny. I also have a group of Meeker ladies I have hiked 12 to 15 of them with, some of the fourteeners are ones I already hiked with Johnny. I love getting out in the outdoors and the accomplishment of the fourteeners. I also love music and love to sing. I don’t have professional training. I just enjoy singing. Johnny likes to golf and fish. We both love visiting our kids and grandkids,” Patti explained.
“We’ll be moving in June. We are trying to get an appointment in Texas or closer to Texas to be nearer to our family,” Patti said.
“We love the real sense of community here in Meeker where your know your neighbors, where everyone knows and helps each other, the involvement families have participating in community events like parades, sports and plays,” Patti added.
