MEEKER | Longtime Meeker resident Kathy Warren is this week’s “home of” honoree. Kathy was born in Los Angeles, Calif. She lived there until she was 10. Her father, Glen Warren, was born and raised in Meeker. He moved to Los Angeles where he met Kathy’s mother. Glen moved back to Meeker with his family in 1965. Kathy’s younger brother, Bill Warren, and his wife Kim, also reside in Meeker.Kathy works nights in the emergency room of Pioneers Hospital as a “PCT” patient care technician. On her days off, she works days at Angels & Outlaws Academy day care center. Kathy has also worked at the Last Chance Restaurant, Gary’s Steakhouse and has done private duty elderly care.Kathy is a pet owner. “My dog Kiera is a husky and I have seven kitties: Missy, Maxwell, Tuffy, Mouse, Screech, Precious and Little One,” Kathy said.“I enjoy reading, yard work and going to concerts. I took my first train trip to Denver in May to see U2. I also took a road trip to Las Vegas, Nev., with my friend Stephanie Stubert a few years back to celebrate my 50th birthday.”“I enjoy the small town atmosphere of Meeker, knowing my neighbors, feeling safe. It’s just a quaint town and a great place to live. This is home,” Kathy added.
