RANGELY | Kevin and Jolene Carlson of Rangely are this week’s “home of” honorees. Kevin and Jolene have lived here 13 years. “My mother, Wanda Tosh, graduated high school here. Her maiden name was Coy. My grandfather Burl Coy lived here years and years! Not sure how many. My cousin Terrell Coy also lived here for years and years,” Jolene explained. The Carlsons have been married for 16 years.
Kevin works for Basic Energy and Jolene is employed by the Rangely School District.
Jolene served on the Dinosaur Town Council before they moved to Rangely. She also was on the Giant Step board for a while.
The Carlsons have two children. Their daughter Katelyn was graduated from Rangely High School last year. Katelyn currently lives in Dinosaur with her boyfriend Trevor Long. The Carlsons’ son Lane is a 7th grader this year at Rangely Junior/Senior High.
“We love to ride four wheelers, go rock crawling, hiking, fishing, camping and hunting and just hang with family and friends and have a camp fire,” Jolene said.
“What we like most about Rangely is being able go in any direction and be out in the hills. The small town life is great to raise your family in. Whenever there is a need in anyone’s family Rangely will step in and give you a hand,” Jolene added.
