MEEKER | This week’s “home of” honorees are Kurt and Jackie Pozorski of Meeker. The Pozorskis moved to Meeker in September 2007.
“We were married Sept. 21, 2007 at the United Methodist Church by Pastor Johnny,” Jackie said.
Kurt and Jackie own and operate Kacey’s Kloset in Meeker which they named after their daughter Kacey.
“Kacey was diagnosed with a rare pediatric brain stem tumor when she was 4. She had just turned 5 when she passed away March 29, 2011. The store is my way to give back to Meeker for helping us. It’s a secondhand store that I describe as a ‘hip, new, thrift store’. You can find stuff here that you can’t find anywhere else in town. We have lots of clothes, some prom dresses, mirrors, purses, household items, gifts, cleaning products and more. We also have lots of baby stuff including new bottles, clothes, diapers just about anything you would need for a baby. I donate to fundraisers in town for other people in need. If I hear about people in need I help them however I can,” Jackie explained.
Kurt is a truck driver for Cole Field Services. Jackie also works part time at Watts Ranch Market.
Kurt and Jackie enjoy fishing, target and trap shooting and duck hunting. Jackie also likes putting together “big” jigsaw puzzles. Kurt enjoys tinkering and restoring the car he got for high school graduation. He calls it “Kacey’s car” as Kacey would help him work on it and he was planning to give it to Kacey when she turned 16. Kurt also likes NFL football.
“We like the Meeker community in itself. The people are pretty friendly, they don’t have to know you to help you,” Jackie ended.
