RANGELY | Peter and Colleen Brixius find Rangely to “fit how we view ourselves; it is a lot like ourselves with real Western values.”
Peter and Colleen have called Rangely home for the past five years, having moved from Gering, Neb. They will enjoy their 36th wedding anniversary in September.
Of their union, the Brixiuses have one son, Casper, 25, who lives in Denver with his wife, Alison. He works as an analyst for an Internet company.
Peter has been Rangely town manager for his five years in town, and Colleen works for Urie Trucking.
For community service, Peter has served as vice chairman of the Rangely Fire Protection District.
Among his hobbies, Peter lists woodworking and hunting. Colleen’s hobbies include religious studies and knitting.
“Colleen and I really like the character of the Rangely community,” he said. “We enjoy the people and have found the community to be warm and accepting of one another. The people here work very well together to advance the community.”
Of special events in their lives, Peter said, “We’ve lived in lots of different communities due to my being in government service. We have been able to see a good part of the country and experience various lifestyles, traditions and special events in different parts of the country.”
