RBC I Local equestrians who enjoy public lands from horseback are forming a local chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America. The White River Chapter would be the 10th in Colorado.
The Back Country Horsemen is a nationwide organization that encourages and ensures the common sense use of horses in our public lands, and helps local agencies improve trail heads and trails. It also educates horsemen and other users on how to coexist and use the trails safely and “leave no trace.”
There will be an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at the Silt Fire Station, 611 Main St. For more information, call Kay Robinson at 625-3663 or Diana Vagneur at 876-2435.
