MEEKER I The community is invited to take part in the celebratory cutting of the ribbon for the new Pioneers Medical Center on June 13.
“This will mark a new chapter in healthcare for Meeker and the White River Valley,” said Margie Joy, executive director of the Pioneers Healthcare Foundation.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m., and the open house, which will run until 7 p.m., will include a cornerstone and time capsule setting, facility tours and an old-fashioned picnic.
The ribbon cutting will not mark the actual opening of the new facility. The schedule to move to the new facility from the old hospital will be: June 17: For the emergency room, the hospital in general, and the Walbridge Wing, which will be open late on June 17; June 18: to move the Meeker Family Health Clinic, facility will be closed all day for the move; June 19: the Meeker Family Health Clinic will reopen at the new facility for acute needs only; and June 20: the Meeker Family Health Clinic will reopen from 9 a.m. to noon.
The new hospital is located at 100 Pioneers Medical Center Dr., which is across from Samuelson’s True Value, just north of town off Highway 13.
