RANGELY — The Rangely Human Resource Council has been operating in Rangely for more than 20 years. Its members come from a variety of backgrounds and are united in the purpose of alleviating poverty, enhancing public health and welfare and providing opportunities for assistance and information to the community of Rangely.
The council’s examples of public service include involvement in the annual bike rally, the Thanksgiving basket program, the community carnival and the annual coat drive and giveaway.
The group also makes funds available to the schools and the recreation center for registration fees and expenses for programs and field trips.
In its direct-request program, a disadvantaged individual may be able to receive help with medications, housing, clothing and other needs. The group feels that a symbiotic relationship between the citizens and the businesses of Rangely would be proof positive of what makes our community unique: we truly take care of our own.
If you would like more information, a membership application or to make a donation to Rangely Human Resource Council, you can contact Paula Davis, secretary-treasurer, at 878-9530, e-mail her at [email protected] or you can send mail to P.O. Box 115 in Rangely, Colo., 81648.
The group’s next meeting is March 13 at noon in the county conference room at Rangely Town Hall.
