Ice Cream Social is Sunday

RANGELY I The Rangely Outdoor Museum’s Annual Ice Cream Social and Homemade Ice Cream Contest is Sunday at 1 p.m. during Septemberfest.
Do you make homemade ice cream and have a special recipe you want to enter? Give us a call with your name and flavor by Aug. 31. Enter to win a cash prize of: first place, $125; second place, $75; and third place, $50 — or just come for the free ice cream and lemonade.
Judging is done the day before the social, so don’t forget to call.
There will also be entertainment, visitors can check out the unique museum and see what’s new in the gift shop.
To enter the homemade ice cream contest you need at least one gallon of ice cream, enough for all to taste. Mixes, prepackaged or artificial flavors are not permitted; use fresh ingredients only.
We ask that all contestants be present the day of the social to serve their own ice cream. Winners will be announced at the social.
Museum hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 4 p.m.
