The ice tower that is built annually on the Colorado Northwestern Community College campus in Rangely is slowly approaching its summit as the water and cold temperatures combine to make the solid ice. The tower is studied for weather’s effect on ice making, but when it is complete, the outdoor leadership classes use it for climbing, rappelling and other outdoor purposes.
