Destination Imagination

The Magical Magnificent Seven traveled to Denver April 26 to participate in the Destination Imagination state tournament. The team challenge involved a skit about secrets and had an optical illusion of cutting one of their teammates in half. They placed sixth out of 26 teams from elementary schools around the state. The team consists of Meghan Smith, Delenn Mobley, Madeline Amack, Sheridan Harvey, Eli Newman, Casey Turner and Lori Ann Klinglesmith. The team managers are Jackie Klinglesmith and Kellie Turner. MEEKER — With only a few months left and funds currently “well below” what is needed for the installation of the bronze mountain lion statue at Fifth and Main streets this summer, the Meeker Chamber of Commerce announced a “family-friendly” fund raiser planned for Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Circle Park. RBC — The Rio Blanco County commissioners will hold public meetings in Rangely and Meeker to discuss the county’s Land Use Resolution to establish impact fees. More.


Rangely community asked to stamp out hunger May 10
RANGELY — The Rangely Post Office asks postal customers “to help the hungry” and donate to the annual letter carriers’ food drive Saturday, May 10. All the food collected goes to community food banks which provide meals for the needy throughout the year. More.


Trend of increased service calls continues
RBC — The trend of increased calls for service continued in March 2008, for the Meeker Police Department and the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office with an increase of 13.04 percent year to date. More.
