MEEKER | J Sullivan Art is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of art, “Legends on a Wing” opening in Vernal, Utah, on Oct. 1 where the show will run for two months. Focusing entirely on our fine feathered friends, visitors can see view a diversity of art that captures fine art drawings of these birds.
From the back yard in Meeker to the colorful residents of Galveston, Texas, along with many drawings of the Sandhill cranes in the Colorado Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge, the show captures more than 15 years of Sullivan’s wildlife sightings and drawings.
Sullivan has been concentrating in recent years to bring this solo art event to fruition. Along with the art, considerable research has been conducted to understand and learn more about each bird species and tell their stories. Birds are facing decimation in North America including challenges to their habitat, interrupted migration plans, and basically fewer resources to support their survival.
The host of this event is the Uintah Heritage Museum at 155 E Main St. in Vernal, Utah. Admission is free. Open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; closed Sundays and holidays.
This destination is just two hours away from Meeker making for a fun day outing. To learn more about Sullivan’s art, visit www.jsullivanart.com.
