Shannon and Doug Moody (right) of Moody Construction presented Rio Blanco County Sheriff Anthony Mazzola (left) and Deputy Davon Smith with a $25,000 donation to go toward the acquisition, training, care and maintenance of the department’s new K9, a six-month-old Belgian Malinois named Remmy. Deputy Smith said Remmy is currently in training and is expected to begin service in September. The Moodys said they “wanted to do something to keep drugs out of the community and make it a better place for our kids and grandkids.” Remmy will be trained to detect methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA and heroin.
