Bob King, wearing a Meeker letter jacket, is surrounded by family and pictured standing on the newly built track, which was dedicated “Bob King Track at Starbuck Stadium” at halftime of Friday’s game. King served as Superintendent of Schools for the Meeker School District from 1961-1988, was a dedicated track coach for several years and the “driving force” behind Meeker’s first synthetic track built in 1984. King and his wife Margaret, who taught in the Meeker School Distict, live in Fort Collins, near family.
