MEEKER I The Lady Cowboys softball team traveled to Rifle Thursday, Sept. 11, and swept the Bears with 10-1, 11-6 victories. They were led by pitchers Christina Pryce of Steamboat Springs and Maria Gonzalez of Meeker.
Strong defense was shown by all with stunning performances by Breanne Baker of Rangely at short stop, Jasmine Patterson of Meeker at first base, and catchers Sierra Williams of Meeker and Elaina Lewis of Steamboat Springs.
Strong batting permeated the night with crucial big hits by Jasmine Patterson and Sarah Gerloff of Meeker and Charisma Plantiko of Craig.
The Lady Cowboys play a double header at home this Thursday, Sept. 18, starting at 4:30 p.m.
