MEEKER I Meeker will be represented by two youths in the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run, Colorado Rockies Team Championship. Tori Lasker, 10, and Chris Scherbarth, 9, have qualified to advance to the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Colorado Rockies Team Championship.
Chris and Tori were both overall champions in the boys and girls 9-10 division at the local competition in Meeker. They then traveled to Evans, Colo., for a sectional competition.
Tori’s overall score of 378, and Chris’ overall score of 671 secured them first place at the sectional and a trip to Coors Field.
The top three scores from all sectional winners from Colorado, Utah, and Nebraska advance to the team championship. The competition will be held at Coors Field, June 11, 2011.
