Letters To The Editor, Meeker, Opinion

Letter: Angels & Outlaws owner says thanks

Thank you to the town of Meeker and its great citizens.
Since October 1990, when I first saw the town of Meeker and the surrounding area, myself and my family have been blessed with many great memories and friends. From day one, I felt like I belonged here. Better yet, I felt like I was born here, left and then came back. I always felt that I had to give something back to the community, great residents of Meeker and to my friends to better their lives.
After many obstacles, side turns and delays, the day is finally in sight where the first phase of our gift to the community is upon us.
Jan. 18, 2010 — the opening of Angels & Outlaws Academy Daycare Center. For this monumental day in my life and the life of my family, I would like to thank the following people who have been most instrumental in making it a reality.
n Lew Livingston — local real estate broker who sold us our first and second ranches in this area as well as sold the town of Meeker to our hearts. Thank you, Lew.
n Bruce Clatterbaugh and Mountain Valley Bank, the last caring banker with understanding about business, community and family values. Thank you, Bruce.
n Trina Zagar-Brown, my county woman, great attorney, great adviser and great friend. Thank you, Trina, for everything. We are looking forward to working with you in the future.
n Rick and Christa Rodriguez. Even though you left the Meeker area, you are always in our hearts. I know that Meeker is in your hearts as well. Thank you.
n Thanks to Duane “Pete” Ottosen for your friendship and many cowboy stories as well as all the good advice.
n Thanks to the Rio Blanco Social Services Department for the grant we received in order to help us finish our project.
Thank you so much to Curt Granlund from the Division of Child Care Services. It has been a pleasure to work with you. Your advice and expertise is much appreciated.
n Thanks to Judge DeVore and his wife Joyce for their help over the final hurdle.
n Last, but not least, thanks to Becky Ridings and her lovely family. Becky graciously took over the helm and will take this facility to the successful voyage. Thank you, Becky, and bon voyage.
Finally, I would like to thank the present generation and all of the future generations of Meekerites who will go through the center — Angels & Outlaws Academy, LLC.
Our motto and our dedicating staff’s goal is to provide “Early Education Toward Successful Graduation.” We want to provide future leaders, successful business people and a successful and long-striving Meeker community.
Thank you and may God bless you all and the town of Meeker.
