Campaigning for public office was never at the top of my to-do list, or for that matter, ever even on it. Even though I had many positive experiences during my election campaign, I can honestly say that I am glad that portion of my life is over.
I would be very ungrateful if I did not take this opportunity to thank those people who assisted me in my campaign for coroner. Thank you to those who so bravely helped me get petition signatures, put up and took down yard signs and banners and delivered campaign bags. It takes a lot of courage and commitment to brave the heat, rain, snow, wind and dogs while asking complete strangers for their support.
Thank you to Rod for your frequent calls of support and Sally for the cinnamon rolls. Thanks to the individuals and businesses who allowed me to put up yard signs and banners on their property. Thank you to those who honestly admitted they were voting for someone else, and to those who voted for me and believed in my cause. Thank you to those who donated financially. A huge thanks to Cindy for becoming my campaign manager, cheerleader and advertising specialist. Thanks, Steve, for sharing Cindy with me. Thanks to Sherri for calling to commiserate after the election. Most importantly, thank you to Kim and to my family for your patience, support, understanding and for helping me believe in me.
I also need to thank Ran Cochran for allowing me to receive the training and acquire the certification I needed to perform the duties of the coroner’s office and thank Dr. Krueger for asking me to continue as deputy coroner through the end of the current term. Since my major objective in running for coroner was to be able to continue to use my experience and certification, continuing as a deputy will allow me to do that. I am disappointed that I did not win the election, but know that it was the Lord’s will. I congratulate Dr. Krueger and wish him good luck.
I have purposely left out many names, as I know those persons wish to serve quietly without accolades. Nevertheless, please don’t think I don’t appreciate your efforts on my behalf. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart to everyone who in any way supported me in this endeavor. You are the best!
