Dear Editor:
Great things are happening in Rio Blanco County concerning economic development and future community sustainability! We are ripe with opportunity, and keeping efforts focused on the overall goal of bringing more jobs and more money to Rio Blanco County, community partners are hard at work, taking a balanced approach to economic development. Did you know there are more than 40 projects underway between the county, towns of Meeker and Rangely, the Rangely and Meeker Chambers of Commerce and other community stakeholders? All of these efforts are focused on making Rio Blanco County a better place to do business, live and visit. While we may not have all answers to all questions at the moment, please know that we are not going into these projects without fully determining potential cause for concern and liabilities. At this point in time we are in the initial stages of discovery, working every day to further define final project aspects. There are many questions yet left to answer, and know that those questions will be fully vetted before the “public sector” is asked for any formal monetary commitment. While there are a multitude of projects ranging in size, cost and impact, there are a few catalyst projects that have the ability to really provide responsible, positive impact to the communities in Rio Blanco County. These projects are ever-changing, and as new details emerge, we will post them to this website.
